Burj Khalifa; World's Tallest Building
Burj Khalifa, named after the ruler of UAE Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is world’s
tallest building with 828.8m height and 160 stories. Decision to build world’s
largest building was made by the ruler as their economy was based on oil
refinery and the ruler decided to build something unique in order to grab world’s
attention; moreover, break all the world records.
The cost for mega structure project was $1.5 billion dollars
and the construction was started in 2004 and was completed in 2009. Burj
Khalifa was inaugurated in 2010 as the centerpiece of downtown Dubai which
included 30,000 homes, nine hotels, parkland, Dubai mall and Burj Khalifa Lake
and fountain.
Burj Khalifa has 160 story and some stories are for hotels,
some stories are residential, and some stories are for mechanical purposes. Every
residential apartment was sold for $ 1 million plus dollars depending on the
floor and other facilities.
Burj Khalifa has high security and every resident has a
security code and special cards and they are asked about code and card while
entering the place. Burj Khalifa’s parking lot is considered as the most worthy
and expensive parking lot in the world because all the cars that are parked in
the parking lot at least worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
People of any age can visit Burj Khalifa after booking tickets
some days earlier of their visit. It depends on the story and time that one
wants to visit and price of the tickets also changes accordingly. The highest
price for ticket is 500 AED (Arab Emirate Dirham).
Burj Khalifa has won many awards for its structure and
millions of tourists visits this place annually. This mega structure project
shows of human’s ability and will to be unique.
