Malala Yousufzai; The Girl Who Stood For Her Rights And Got Shot By Taliban
Malala Yousufzai, a 20 year old girl, is the youngest Nobel
Prize laureate and first Pakistani that was awarded Nobel Prize. She was born
into village areas of Sawat where Taliban ruled and burnt schools in order to
not let girls go for schooling. At age 12, Malala wrote her first blog for BBC
Urdu describing the condition of her village and Taliban’s inhuman activities.
Malala was known for her women rights advocacy and promoting
education from childhood as she gave printed and on television interviews. She was
nominated for international children’s peace price at a very young age for her
activities.
On October 2012, she and some of her friends were shot by Taliban
and she was injured badly. Luckily, she survived the attack and was shifted to
UK for treatment after getting media’s attention. She got national and international
support for advocating women rights and promoting education.
Malala says that she was named after a brave and legendry woman
of Khyber whose name was Malala. She says that my father named me Malala but I
made myself Malala by my hard works and dedication.
Malala runs a non-profit organization named Malala
organization that helps children and girls worldwide study and she provides
them educational facilities with the slogan: One child, one teacher, one book,
one pen can change the world. She also co-authored the best-selling book I am Malala.
She was awarded so many awards some are: Nobel Prize, Honorary
Canadian Citizenship, national youth peace prize, Sakharov award,
Sitara-i-imtiaz and some other awards.
Malala Yousufzai is a big inspirational name worldwide for
girls and every individual that thinks to bring change and raise their voice
when everyone else is silent.
